Hi! I’m Kaitlyn McGrath, an innovative, driven multimedia journalist with more than a decade of media experience.

Inspired by my instinct to tell stories that go beyond the box score, I specialize in human-interest pieces that focus on telling relatable and emotional narratives, bringing audiences closer to the teams and athletes they root for. My expertise is sports coverage, but I’ve also covered news, lifestyle, health and culture stories as well. I consider myself a malleable reporter who can cover any topic with aplomb.

Along with my writing, I have appeared as an expert analyst on TV, radio, and podcasts, including as an occasional co-host of Jays Talk on Sportsnet 590 The Fan.

My work has also appeared in The Athletic, The Canadian Press, The Globe and Mail, The Toronto Star, The National Post and CBC. I previously hosted a popular weekly Blue Jays podcast called Spin Rate.

I’m also passionate about mentoring young reporters. I have participated in the Canadian Association of Journalists’ Mentorship Program and taught at The College of Sports Media in Toronto, where I teach students how to thrive in digital-first newsrooms.
